Is electryolyte packet waste becoming a problem?
The average athlete sweats about 400ml - 2,400ml per hour. The goal is to replenish sodium intake every 30 - 60 minutes, which equates to 300 - 600ml of sodium per hour.
This means that athletes need about 2 electrolyte packets per hour.
1 packet of electrolytes is used for 500–750 ml. The average athlete exercises for 3 hours per day, around 4 days a week.
This means the average athlete will use 24 packets per week.

THE AVERAGE ATHLETE USES 1,152 ELECTROLYTE PACKETS PER YEAR.
